My allergy symptoms have increased/worsen the last year and a half-during/after a very stressful situation. I was experiencing high anxiety and panic attacks-which my anxiety continues to affect me. When it comes to my allergies, I experience the following: pressure on the forehead/eyes/throat/chest, unable to breath through my nose and having to continuously needing to catch my breath through my mouth, excessive fatigue, tongue becomes irritated at times, and my anxiety increases when I experience this due to not being able to breath. What do you recommend? I would like to make a consultation-however, I am not sure what your schedule/format is due to the current COVID-19 situation. Thank you.

Thank you so much Dr. Amita Jain! This is great information and gives me great insight. I will be in touch this week or next week. I will also pre-book a consultation.
Dear Penny, you must be going through a lot - and the current situation in our world could be adding to your anxiety, making your condition worse. From an Ayurvedic perspective, there is Vata dosha causing Kapha Vikruti (imbalance). Both doshas must be addressed. You are caught in a vicious circle - anxiety causing allergies to worsen, allergies causing breathing difficulties, breathing trouble causing increased anxiety. To break this circle, we must first address the root cause: that which is causing the anxiety. We help manage this with Vata-pacifying life changes and herbs that calm the nervous system. That alone will bring positive changes. Next we take steps to manage allergic response in the body. For this there are several highly effective Ayurvedic treatments including herbs like guduchi, licorice, tulsi, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, long pepper, etc and therapies like nasya and neti. Taken in the right combination, these will reduce Kapha (congestion, mucus) and greatly help improve breathing. After that it is important to practice deep breathing to improve vital capacity and increase oxygen intake to replenish all internal organs and tissues. Along with this we follow a Vata-Kapha diet protocol for 60-90 days. You'll see a tremendous improvement in all respects. While our clinic is closed, feel free to call me for guidance. 240-753-0151. You can also pre-book online for mid-May when we plan to open. My best wishes to you.
